So, what exactly would the Assassin primary lend to specializing in fire and what not? ...Curious
I know Assassin's Promise can be used to make long recharge spells recharge faster, but people usually use Assassin as their secondary for that skill.

an assassin not specializing in some sort of weapon, be it daggers, scythe, bow or whatever other weapon is just a fail. only exception might be the signet of judgment assassin, but than that's pretty fail too...

have you thought about some earth magic to improve defense? because i find assassins fairly squishy for a front liner.

assassins are supposed to be squishy........they are ASSASSINS, not big heavily armored dudes
they are not front liners, they are just melee
and seriously......a fire sin.........WTF
unless you mark of rodgort + fire daggers i dont see how that is decent

i was saying that earth armor increased survivability in melee (which i consider to be at the front line). with the damage that you can dish out, how is more armor bad?
aggressive much?

the aim is to maximise damage and NOT get hit
if you're getting hit so much you need more armor, you're not playing it right

A/E=fantastic idea. Go AoD and enter an AB match. Watch the amount of spike damge you'll dish out, and you'll understand how well an A/E sin can work. I personally love running AoD spike in AB. So much fun

Im afraid you should let Elementalists be Elementalists and let Assassins be Assassins. Don't try and force your character to be something its not, it wont blow up stuff half as well as an Elementalist and you would be much better using daggers.
The main reasons for this are you simply wont have the energy pool for the high energy cost Elementalist skills and you wont be able to use Elementalist runes to buff up your power.
The only Elementalist spells which might be of use to you are the Conjures:[skill=text]Conjure Flame[/skill] being the fire version.
Don't worry, this is a common mistake, loads of people make it when theyre new to the game or a new class.

I am far from new to the game, just new to the campaign.
were i live Its like the most popular campaign
any ways My character works fine, yes there is an eneregy [problem, but i find that it works great.
now i dont have the massive weapons you guys have or the major armor, but i do have "skill"
I take on archers and mages for my pary and any thing that uses ranged weapons, so while i can stand in the back row and frire off a fire storm or flare i can then rush in and finish off the giants (mostly yeties at this time) with a few slice and dice.
now if i am not to be with a A/E
what would you recomend?
E/A?
A/D
I always wanted to try A/D
(is it not true that theres a spot in the factions campaign i can go and switch my second class?)

If it has energy problems it doesn't work great, sorry. And it's a pretty bad idea anyway <_<
Just go A/D. Remember that you can only become a A/D if you have NF, and you'll have to switch secondary in NF in order become /D.
